Santa Monica to Catalina - again

by Yasser on Jul.09, 2009, under Flying Story

Tim loved the flight to Catalina so much, we decided to do it again and this time with Bonnie.

We flew to Catalina and took the bus down to Avalon where we had lunch and did the glass boat. So it was an air/land/sea adventure.

The day couldn’t be more perfect. There was no marine layer stopping us from getting home this time.

Here are some pics below and the rest can be found here on flickr.

Hi, nice pictures you have. Really nice to hear about your flying in L.A. I’m a Swedish/European 100h PPL living in Sweden but i come to L.A every summer to visit relatives. Got my JAA PPL 2007 and Got my piggyback FAA license this summer (2009), did my BFR at Universal Academy in El-Monte. Did some flying around L.A in July, but never got the chance to fly to Santa Monica airport. Hoping to do that soon, maybe in february 2010. Very fun and nerv-tickling for a pilot mainly used to the grass field in my hometown (http://www.ufkmotor.se/images/stories/ufk/eskc.jpg).
